Italian Chef, Andrea Frizzi

Andrea Frizzi was born and raised in Milan Italy. At an early age he developed a passion for fine Italian cooking from his Venetian mother, Pia. He learned about discipline and honest hard work from his Tyrolean father, Livio. Andrea graduated with honors from the select four-year culinary course of the prestigious Italian Culinary Academy. He was awarded the "Distinguished Diploma of Merit" by the Mayor of Milan as the top graduate in his class.

Andrea then worked in Milan for 9 years in increasingly senior restaurant management positions. In 1993 Andrea moved to the United States to be the Executive Chef for the acclaimed Bice Restaurant in Washington D.C. After successfully completing that assignment, Andrea proceeded to consult for other restaurants in Washington D.C., Baltimore, New York City and opened 24 restaurants in total. Andrea has cooked for many dignitaries both in Italy and the USA. Among those are; the Pope, Prime Ministers, Senators and celebrities.

In Denver, the opening of his own restaurant, IL Posto, is scheduled for Summer 2006. With an open kitchen so you can watch and interact with Andrea as he prepares his Italian dishes made from fresh seasonal ingredients, and a friendly, neighborhood location on 17th Avenue, you will be lured again and again to "The Place", or as Italians say, "IL Posto".
